is overwhelmed by Saruman’s crazed power. Saruman’s subsequent attempt to corrupt Gandalf on behalf of
Sauron is met with contemptuous rebuke. Overwhelmed and defeated, Gandalf is temporarily imprisoned at the height of Saruman’s tower.
